I painted this painting for my Thesis Show at Boston University. Although it describes a victim of Domestic Violence, the real reason i painted this image was due to the emotional content. I am very interested in what drives us to stay in emotionally abusive situations. As a person who has also been in a similar position to the subject I feel it is not only my right to paint such provocative imagery but also my duty. I am an extremely emotional individual and I find this to be the most literal language in which i can express these feelings.
